There's a rumor floating around the interwebs that some of today's most popular illusionists and mentalists are using demons in their acts. It's the only way you can explain the fact that they appear to levitate or teleport at will. It's the only way you can explain the fact that mentalist Derren Brown was able to pick 6 out of 6 lottery numbers correctly. Here's my take on it:
It is quite possible that these guys are working with demonic spirits in order to boost their physical abilities and protect them from harm while performing acts of magic. In grimoires such as the red dragon and the lemegeton, there are demons listed that are supposed to confer abilities such as levitation, invisibility and invulnerability. I know that their definitely not working with angelic energies like those in the heptameron and angelic grimoire of honorius, as these entities don't function in that capacity. I myself have not worked with either demonic or angelic entities in any of the aforementioned capacities. Apparently witches during the burning times were able to make themselves invulnerable to pain.
While it is quite possible that the demon scenario is true, it's equally possible that these men are using hypnosis on themselves and those around them to project the illusion that they are performing these feats. They could also be using any number of wires and other means to suspend themselves in the air. You simply won't know unless you try it for yourself. Invulnerability can be accomplished by entering a deep state of hypnosis and giving the self the appropriate suggestions. This post is not about the activation of hypnotic abilities however.
One possibility is that these guys actually have some sort of training in the manipulation of bio-physical energy and what you're seeing is the activation of that skill.
I'm more inclined to believe that mentalists like derren brown and the amazing kreskin are actually using their inborn abilities, even though they go to great lengths to show people that these abilities are fraudulent in an attempt to dis-empower people and make some money at the same time. Derren brown has training is neuro linguistic programming and as such, he would definitely have a means by which he can control his own internal states and activate his own bio-physical abilities. He definitely has training in hypnosis as you'll see here in this short video clip. Controlled use of such abilities as telepathy, precognition, psychokinesis and all other psi abilities are the result of establishing control over ones subconscious self and developing the ability to generate and control various formats of energy and the guild has some awesome technologies for helping you to unlock your full psychic potential.
There was a mentalist/magician on Americas Got Talent recently who claimed that he was able to break things without touching them with the aid of and entity he calls "Desmond ". He claims that Desmond doesn't always perform on command. In this case, it could be misdirection at work or it could be that the person actually entered into some form of symbiotic pact with a elemental spirit. Here's a link to "desmond" in action. Elementals and their actions are somewhat limited in scope, being able to only perform a few simple tasks at any given time, i.e move that object, pick that number, etc. Again, one cannot know until they attempt to attract these spirits on their own. I think that this is a waste of occult power if this is the case. It sounds almost exactly like the fakirs of India and their partnerships with different elementals to perform various acts of magic. To each their own, however :/
